直读式铁谱仪是将磨粒有序沉积在沉积管内，利用光电转换原理，测出表征油液样品中大磨粒（大于5µm）浓度和小磨粒（1～2µm）浓度的Dl和Ds值，绘出铁谱参数曲线，以判断机器磨损变化的进程和趋势。它是进行磨损趋势分析的定量仪器。
The direct reading ferrography is to deposit the abrasive particles in the sedimentary tube in order. By using the principle of photoelectric conversion, the Dl and Ds values of the large abrasive particles (greater than 5µ m) and the concentration of small particles (1 to 2µ m) in the oil samples are measured, and the curves of the ferrographic parameters are drawn to determine the process and trend of the change of the wear of the machine.
